Welcome to the PE Department

The PE department at King’s Academy Binfield and Oakwood’s main priority is developing the students physical literacy skills and a deep understanding of the role physical activity plays in keeping our bodies and minds healthy. This is achieved by delivering a mixture of practical performance, experimentation, play, leadership and coaching, but always with a focus on embedding a love and appreciation of physical activity.

Our ethos #DAREtobeactive is achieved not just in lessons but also in extracurricular activities. The PE department encourages students to never give up and keep trying to be the best person they can be, showing enthusiasm for the subject while instilling respect for others and themselves.
Students require their PE kit in every single lesson, even if they cannot take part in the lesson due to illness or injury. Students will take part as a coach, official or will be performing observation and analysis. This ensures an inclusive environment, which helps students acquire an important sense of belonging as well as building the self-confidence and self esteem they need to achieve and make their first steps towards higher education and employment.
